High(ish) Quality: www.youtube.com Japanese comedienne Nahomi Matsushima of Othello interviews Johnny Depp (twice!)in 2006 to promote Pirates of the Caribbean Dead Man’s Chest for the Japanese tv show Sittoko… take 3! I love these interviews so much that since no one else had done so, I decided to add subtitles to them based on a wonderful translation from a good friend. I didn’t subtitle absolutely everything, and I took some liberties with the dialog to make the English transactions interlock better. Still there are some timing and linguistic mistakes that are solely my fault, but otherwise for my part I blame Windows Movie Maker for everything. Notes Part 3!: So Nahomi finally meets her man! I’m kind of proud of this one as I watched my editing skills improve. Of course it didn’t hurt that there wasn’t a lot of fast talking either, so the subtitles should match up better. However there may be a joke near the end that Depp fans might be even more envious about. Also some of you may notice a video splice I did early on in the video to put back in a small part of the video that had been previously removed. The video looks about the same, but the audio will change.

I liked the freedom of not having glasses like it was when I was young, but ultimately i couldn’t take care of my contacts. Plus I found glasses that made me look smarter lol. Maybe I’ll get full lazer surgery if I come into some money.

He probably is near-sighted, meaning he can’t see far away… like me. Also he may not necessarily like, but he might prefer wearing them when otherwise wearing contacts would be a hassle.
Does Johnny use glasses because he needs to or because he likes wearing them? I mean is he near-sighted?
They may not be easy to remember, but Johnny makes that effort because he knows that events like these can be very important for everyone involved… Nahomi knows this herself and so they both work together to make these interview segments memorable.
she’s so cute and funny! i understand most of the japanese words, so it’s even more funnier. But Johnny is so humble and sweet, that he remember her name, bc japanese names are not so easy to remember for most of the “gaijin”. She surely made a impression.
